Compatible and Non-Compatible Bed Types
The Bedside Extend-A-Rail is compatible with the following traditional bed types: Mattress on box spring, mattress on slats, and mattress on non-adjustable platform.
This bed rail is not compatible with beds that has adjustable bases, hospital beds, or beds with an extra soft mattress. Compatibility and fit vary from bed to bed.

The Bed Rail comes with the following:
- Guard rail
- Two base tubes with attached safety strap
- Hardware and wrench

Installation 101
Installing on the Bed
The Bedside Extend-A-Rail can be installed on either side of the bed with no modification. To install the bed rail on the bed, slide the base tubes underneath the mattress. The bed rail should be placed 12.5 inches from the head of the bed and sit flush with the side of the mattress.

Attach the Safety Strap
When installing the bed rail, keep the end of the safety strap out from under the bed. Slide the safety strap underneath the mattress by walking it around the base of the bed. Buckle the safety strap around the bed frame on the opposite side of the bed.
Is assembly required?
Yes, assembly is required before using the Bedside Extend-A-Rail. For more detailed instructions on how to assemble the bed rail, please refer to our assembly video and instruction manual.
What types of beds can be used with the Bedside Extend-A-Rail?
The safety bed rail can be used with most traditional beds with box springs or slats. It not is not intended to be used with adjustable beds, hospital beds, or beds with extra soft mattresses.
